Our Privacy Statement...

The United Federation of ChildSafe Web Sites has created this privacy statement as part of the iWatchDog Privacy Initiative, in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following content, discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for these websites: http://www.ufcws.org & http://www.child-safe.com, ( both web sites use the same IP Address ), in accordance with Federal Trade Commision, (FTC), guidelines set forth in the Child Online Privacy Protection Act, (COPPA).  We highly recommend you visit http://www.kidzprivacy.com for a more in-depth explanation of COPPA regulations and their impact in making the Internet a ChildSafe place.

Although the UFCWS
is one of the organization that made the word ChildSafe a household word, we still uphold the belief of participating in our work as TEAM effort.  It is because of efforts by others such as the FTC, KidzPrivacy, Kids Domains, Inc., SurfSafely, ICRA, and SafeSurf, that we were able to accomplish that task.

Please see our iWatchDog Program ICCS Certification GUIDELINES for a more definitive explanation of our certification and services we provide.

Definition of a Cookie
A "cookie"is a small text file that a website can place on your computer's hard drive in order, for example, to collect information about your activities on the site or to make it possible for you to use an online "shopping cart" to keep track of items you wish to purchase. The cookie transmits this information back to the Web site's computer which, generally speaking, is the only computer that can read it. Most consumers do not know that "cookies" are being placed on their computers when they visit websites. If you want to know when this happens, or to prevent it from happening, you can set your browser to warn you when a website attempts to place a "cookie" on your computer.

The UFCWS will do everything in our power to protect the privacy of information provided to us on this website and will never deliberately share your personally identifiable information with any third party (except as required by law) without your consent. In such cases an email will be sent to you requesting your permission to release personal information.  We never require anyone to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to make use of any services the UFCWS has to offer and serve our customers in a proficient manner.
